World Peace Interfaith Festival

World Peace Interfaith Festival

PEACEIt was a great honor to be invited by the PEACE Inc. to participate in their annual World Peace Interfaith Festival. It was an eight-day event, from September 21 to 28, 2013, where different religions and faiths gather together to celebrate our differences and promote peaceful coexistence and respect for each other. Aside from Pagan Federation International-Philippines and Cebu Paranormal Society, The Roman Catholic Church, Born Again Cebu Full Gospel, Southern Baptist Fellowship, Seventh Day Adventist, Hare Krishna, Baha’i Faith, Ananda Marga, Buddhism Faith, Islam CIPC and the Church of the Latter Day Saints are among the participants. The festival was held in Plaza Independencia, Cebu City where different stalls and booths for each contingent were put up.

FIREThe Pagan Federation International-Philippines together with Cebu Paranormal Society hosted the fourth night of the festival. We showcased different artworks, tools, materials, herbs and fashion accessories that reflect Philippine Pagan tradition and culture. We also presented a short film show about the history of Paganism in the world and in the Philippines. Together with members of Cebu Paranormal Society, we offered services such tarot card reading, chakra balancing, palm reading, crystal healing and consultation for Psychic/Scientific Investigation cases. On top of that, we presented a dance ritual that explained the basis of our beliefs. We also invited an ethnic band to play tribal music for the night.

The World Peace Interfaith Festival was a chance and opportunity to educate people about Paganism and to correct the wrong notion about the Pagan culture. We were able to meet people of different religions and we had a friendly and peaceful discussion about the complexities of our beliefs. This festival proves that despite our differences we can live harmoniously together as long as there is love and respect for one another.
